Sheltering Tree, Thoughtful Banners with Hardwood Masculine Card

I have finally got around to making a card ready for Father's Day and wanted to share it with you. I have uncovered and dusted off my Sheltering Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up! to make this card. I made the card more useful for any occasion using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set, this et also includes a Happy Father's Day sentiment.

I started making this card by using the Sheltering Tree stamp set and stamping the tree on Whisper White card stock using Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Early Espresso inks, the second tree I stamped off to create a sense of perspective. I used to swoosh for the ground in Tranquil Tide and Sky in Soft Sky inks. I layered this piece over a Whisper White card stock Hardwood embossed piece that I made using the Big Shot. Both these pieces were matted onto Early Espresso card stock and attached to a Tranquil Tide card base. I stamped the sentiment and frame from the Thoughtful Banners stamped onto Lemon Lime Twist card stock using Tranquil Tide and Early Espresso inks punching it using the Classic Label punch adding this using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Good Tidings with Quilt Top Embossing Christmas Card

I couldn't resist sharing another SNEAK PEEK with you from the upcoming 2017 Holiday catalogue. There are only few days left before you can order from it!!!

As many of you know I don't do snowy wintery christmas cards since I am in the southern hemisphere but I do love a Traditional Christmas and growing up with a traditional christmas each year as a child the Good Tidings 2 step stamp set from Stampin' Up! just reminds of my childhood memories.

I started this card my stamping the holly leaves from Good Tidings stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock in Emerald Envy and Tranquil Tide inks. I added the berries in Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso inks and finally the branch in Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks. Using Versamark ink I gold heat embossed the sentiment also from the God Tiding stamp set and matted this piece on Gold Foil paper. I used a Tranquil Tide card base that is embossed using the Quilt Top Embossing Folder in the Big Shot attaching the stamped and foil piece with Stampin' Dimensionals to finish the card.

These stamps are not Available TILL September 1st but we do have these available as a PRE RELEASE RIGHT NOW

Magical Mermaid Watercolour Card

This week we had a special birthday, our grand daughter turned 7 and as soon as I saw the Magical Mermaid stamp set in the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and I knew I had to use it for her birthday.

I started this card with a piece of Watercolor Paper and wet it heavily with clean water using our Aqua Painters and started building up layers of colour using Temping Turquoise Reinker for the water and both Crushed Curry and Sahara Sand Reinkers for the sand. Once this background was dry I added detail using the Magical Mermaid stamp set, stamping the seaweed in Wild Wasabi and Garden Green inks, sand detail in Sahara Sand ink and Tempting Turquoise ink for the water bubbles. Next I added a small amount of clean water over stamping to soften the images. Next stamped the both the sentiment and Mermaid in Veramark in on Watercolour Paper Gold heat embossing them and then colouring the mermaid using the following inks Crushed Curry - hair, Rose Red - hairband, Pink Pirouette - skin, Pacific Point and Garden Green for the tail, handcutting it out and adding it to the card front with both Mini and Stampin' Dimentionals. I matted the card front with Gold Foil Sheets onto a Sahara Sand card base.

Painted Harvest with Watercolor Christmas Card

I really like the NEW and coming soon September 1st Painted Harvest stamp set,  it is intended to make a sun flower but I like to see other options and saw a gorgeous wreath. I paired it with the sentiment from the Watercolour Christmas stamps set which pairs with the Project Kit with the same name. Im really going to love these sentiments as you cannot stamp them straight which suits me perfectly as I never can stamp straight anyway.

I stamped both layers of the flower from the Painted Harvest stamp set in Lemon Lime Twist and Garden Green inks. I omitted the flower centre to keep it looking like a wreath on Whisper White card stock.  I used the flower centre detail stamp to add berries in Cherry Cobbler ink around the wreath. While I had the Cherry Cobbler ink out I stamped the sentiment under the wreath. I added the card front to a Whisper White card base and a final touch of a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

These stamps are not Available TILL September 1st but we do have these avail as a PRE RELEASE RIGHT NOW

Wood Textures Paper with Happy Birthday Thinlits 65th Birthday Card

Who is your hardest person to make a card for??
For me it is my Dad. It was his Birthday last week and it was a rather significant number so I wanted to show case that by using the Large Number Framelits long with the Wood Textures paper Stack that is perfect for masculine cards as well as just about any other type as well!

I started by using the Wood Textures Paper Stack. Next I cut the 65 and banner from the large Number Framelits in Island Indigo card stock and 2 Happy Birthday Thinlits in Tranquil Tide card stock as both the word are connected and you need to trim them apart on each piece to have them looking right. Using the Number of Years Stamp Set I stamped the "TH" in Tranquil Tide ink and the frame in Island Indigo ink. I arranged all these pieces on a piece of Vellum so they stood out from the busy background but you you can still see it as well. I adhered the vellum to the Wood Textures paper placing adhesive under all the numbers and words so it is not visible. To finish the card I matted the card from on some Early Espresso card stock and then onto a Crumb Cake card base.

Peace on Earth Carols of Christmas with Painted Autumn Christmas Card

I am loving the versatility of the Carols of Christmas Stamp set  I have managed to make Christmas card in various styles all from one set. I have kept this card simple using mainly Green - Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist and Silver both embossing and Glimmer paper and well as a sneak peek at the Painted Harvest Paper which will be available September 1st.

To start the card I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and using the big Shot cut out the frame using the Card Front Builder Framelits, while I had the set and Big Shot our I also cut the trees in Vellum and Silver Glimmer paper. I am really loving the NEW Painted Autumn Paper, which isn't Christmas themed but this works perfectly so I cut it slightly smaller thanks the framed piece. Next I silver heat embossed the sentiment from the Carols of Christmas stamp set as well as stamping the holly leaves using the Stampin Write markers and cutting them once again using the framelits and Big Shot. To assemble that card I attached the trees next to sentiment, layered these pieces on Lemon Lime Twist and stock and a Garden Green card base - these are the colours in the paper we used. I added the Holly as a finishing touch. to the card.

Paint Play Anniversary Card - GSF Blog Hop

Over at Global Stamping Friends we are having a Special Anniversary Blog Hop. It is not very often that I give an anniversary card but it is very special time no matter what type it is. Today's card I have made a generic anniversary card ready for the next anniversary that comes up. I have used the Paint Play stamp set from Stampin' Up! which is quickly becoming a firm favourite of mine.

This whole card is stamped!!! I know it would have been easier grabbing a piece of our beautiful Designer Series Paper but I do love creating my own unique stamped background and I have used the colours pictured below to create the background with the Paint Play stamped set. I have layered a few of the images to give a more finished look like the roses in Powder Pink and Rose Red inks and the daisies in Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight inks. I made sure to add some of the small leaves to roses in Wild Wasabi ink from the stamp set.

The sentiment was created using the Happy from Paint Play in Perfect Plum stamp set in and Anniversary from the Banners for You stamp set in Rose Red ink. This was punched out using the upcoming Everyday Label Punch available from September 1st. I stamped more of the smaller images to fill the punched shape and added a strip of Rose Red card stock to the back to make it stand out from the background. Now everything is looking really busy right? Well I simply added a strip of vellum adhered under the sentiment to break up the background and give some subtle white space while still seeing the stamped background. For that finishing touch I added a scattering of silver Metallic Enamel Shapes.

My Favourite Stampin Up! In Colour SDBH Blog Hop

Today I am participating in the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop where we are showcasing our favourite Stampin' Up! In colours and I really can't choose one but I can choose a family of them which are the 2017-2019 In Colours.

I finally caved and bought the Beautiful Bouquet bundle in the Annual Catalogue and thought it would work perfectly with all the 2017-2019 In Colours and the Wood Textured Paper Stack.

I stamped the stem in Tranquil Tide and the Flowers in Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, Powder Pink, and Lemon Lime Twist inks. Using the Big Shot is Die Cut the bouquet wrap and bow using the co ordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits in Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink card stock. This wood printed piece was matted on Berry Burst card stock and Lemon Lime Twist card stock. The Fresh Fig card base is embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder. I added some of our pearls as a finishing touch.

Veramark Resist Carols of Christmas Card

I am trying a new to me technique today with the Stampin' Up! new but old (it has returned) Glossy Card Stock and the technique is Versamark Resist with this month's Pre Release Carols of Christmas Bundle.

I started with the technique and it really is so easy to do. I took my cut down piece of Glossy card stock and it stamped with Versamark ink using the Carols Of Christmas Stamp set. I let it dry or in my case being impatient helped it along wth our Heat Tool. I then used our Sponge Brayers to create an Ombre background using Night of Navy, Island Indigo and Marina Mist inks. and the Versamark ink magically resists the ink - No embossing or speciality papers needed.
You can see how I used the Sponge brayers in the Video below

To create the rest of the card I used the Card Front Builder Framelits to create the two types of Christmas Trees in Vellum, Silver Foil and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I also used the Moon and Star thinlit at the top of the glossy piece and with a scrap of the Glimmer paper and kept all the cut out piece and added them to the top of the card as well as adding another piece of the Glimmer paper under the cut outs. The trees were added to the bottom of the Glossy card stock creating a scene. The card front was finally adhered to a Night Of Navy card base to complete the card.

I am teaching a class using the Carols of Christmas Bundle this Sunday August 20th 1pm at my house in Narara NSW.
Please contact me for further details.

Paint Play with Petal Garden Paper Birthday Card

I have finally cracked open my Petal Garden Paper Stack from Stampin' Up! and it is just stunning. I have paired it wth the Paint Play stamp set which is one that I over looked my first 100 looks through the Annual Catalogue but now have purchased using Hostess Rewards. I also have a Sneak Peek for you of a NEW Punch that is available next Month in the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I had the very hard task of choosing a piece of the Petal Garden Paper, as well a second piece coordinating piece. I stamped the sentiment from Paint Play I love the paint brush look, in Rich Razzleberry and Pool Party ink on to other side of the flower paper I punch it out using the soon to release Everyday Label Punch. I added some extra stamping to the label using the buds also from the Paint Play stamps in Sweet Sugarplum ink. I added this onto the coordinating piece of Petal Garden Paper. I placed the card front on a Pool Party card stock matt onto a Rich Razzleberry card base. I added a few pearls for a finishing touch to the card.
